WEDC Leadership Training Meeting
August 13th, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
In honor of the centennial celebration of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed women the right to vote in the United States, WEDC is excited to welcome author Bridget Quinn to our August Leadership Training Meeting.
Quinn, who will be joining us virtually from California, will share the history of women’s rights with a collection of heart-pounding scenes and keenly observed portraits from her recent book, She Votes: How U.S. Women Won Suffrage, and What Happened Next. Quinn will share an intersectional story of the women who won suffrage, and those who have continued to raise their voices for equality ever since—from Elizabeth Cady Stanton to Audre Lorde, and from the first female Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation to the first woman to wear pants on the Senate floor.
In celebration of this important event, we are encouraging attendees to invite others, especially older daughters, to join the meeting as well. In addition to a riveting presentation, Quinn will open the floor up for questions at the end of the meeting. Each participant will also receive a signed copy of She Votes: How U.S. Women Won Suffrage, and What Happened Next, mailed to their home after the meeting.
